Messi was not the only star performer on Friday. Sergio Busquets, the defensive midfielder, controlled the game from the middle and prevented Charlotte from creating any chances.
DeAndre Yedlin, the right-back, also had an impressive game, linking up with Busquets to provide a stunning assist for Miami’s second goal.

Inter Miami will now face Philadelphia Union in the semifinals. The Union advanced by edging out Querétaro 2-1 in a tense and physical game that was decided by a last-minute goal from Chris Donovan.
